Abstract

As an educator with a large amount of international experience, my pedagogical methods incorporate this internationalism in order to instill the value of global citizenship in my students.  Having first-hand knowledge of works of art and architecture affords me a unique perspective and knowledge of the material that I am then able to relay to my students.  In turn, this contributes to increased student engagement and interest in the works in question.  In addition, it instills in students the importance of international-mindedness and encourages students to be more active participants not only in their own local communities but also in the global community.
